Tillie- portrait

This is one of my portraits. I took a picture of my ferret, Tille, and I because I love him and he's an amazing pet. I love how this picture turned out. I blurred out the background becuse it was really busy.

Sunday Afternoon Sky- final picture

Mushroom- portrait

This is another one of my portraits. I love nature and being outside but I didnt want to take just an ordinary picture so I used a mirror. It took alot of tries to get me in this picture. I dont know why but it was extrememly complicated.

Lyrics (The Way by Fastball)

For one of my lyric photos I took a picture of the road to represent the song "The Way" by Fastball. This song is based on a true story about and elderly couple from Texas who drove to a festival but kept going. The woman had Alzheimer's disease and the man was recovering from cancer. The couple ended up disappearing and were found dead at the bottom of a canyon about 3 hours away from their destination. This is a sad story but it brought me alot of inspiration to take this picture. I took a picture of a road from a ground view when there was a car coming. I edited the photo to make it look gloomy and sad because of the deaths of the old couple. The road represents the trip they took with eachother to get away and the car represents their love and togetherness. I really like the way this picture turned out and I think it is a good representation of the lyrics.

World

How cute?

There was a racoon in my tree a month ago so I had to take a picture of it. The poor thing had a disease so it died. But I really think this picture turned out awesome so I had to put it on my blog.

Speedo!

When I was in Florida, this guy walked past me in a speedo and a scarf. why would you wear a scarf when is 90 degrees out? haha

Makenzie

Makenzie again, taken on the beach!

Portrait of my Sister

For my other portrait picture I took a picture of my sister, Makenzie. I used a tutorial for cross processing so I could get the wierd color effect. I had to use the curves palette and adjust the reds, blues, and greens in order to get this effect. I also cropped the photo and gave the background a gaussian blur so the person in the background wouldnt be noticable and so Makenzie would be the one that stuck out. I like how there is also a prop in this picture, the suitcase. It makes this portrait a little more unique. I think this picture turned out pretty good and I really like this kind of color effect. Love you Kenzie.

Ryder

This is me and my cute nephew Ryder.

Portrait of my Grandpa

For our portrait assignment I took a picture of my cute grandpa. I had him make a funny face so it would be more unique and more interesting to look at. I think I did a really good job with this photo, I absolutely love it. I wanted to make his wrinkles stand out so I found a tutorialto help me. I created a gitty effect by playing with the curves and messing around with the adjustments. I love how this turned out, this is exactly what I wanted. I like how theres a big amount of contrast and how his eyes standout and match his shirt. Overall, I think this picture turned out really good and I love it. :)

Yellow Wallpaper

This is my picture I took for the Yellow Wallpaper story. I tried to incorporate something to do with a baby since the woman in the story had to give her baby away, so I used a teddy bear. This woman ended up going insane and seeing creeping things in the wall paper, so I had my Mom make scratch marks on the paper so it would look like she was going insane and shreading the paper. I also had her put red paint on her hands so it would look like blood. I just messed around with the adjustments and I wanted to make her hands look ghostly but I had a pretty hard time trying to make that happen. When I thought about this idea in my head, I thought it sounded really good but when I captured it on my camera and edited it on photoshop, I didn't really like the way it turned out.

Psychological Pink

This is my other psychological color picture and this time I used the color pink. Once again, I took a picture of a flower in my mom's garden. The color pink is a calming and loving color that can make you happy. I tried to capture the beauty of pink and the calmness of it but it was pretty difficult. I played around with a bunch of adjustments and I made the pink flower more bright. This is my least favorite picture becasue I had alot of difficulties in blurring out the background. I still think this is a beautiful picture though mainly because its a flower. I wanted to make it softer but I couldnt really figure out how to do it without making it look sloppy. It's an okay picture.

Psychological White

This is my other psychological color picture and I used the color white this time. The color white is a very peaceful, soft, and elegant color. I took a picture from a worms eye view of the sky and also made sure I got some leaves in this photo. I brightened the sky to make it more white and also softened the whole picture to make it more peaceful looking. This picture kindof gives me a "heaven" vibe because your looking into "the bright light." I think this picture turned out good and I think I captured the feeling of white being soft and peaceful. overall, I think this pictured turned out pretty good but for some reason I think it's a little too harsh.

Psychological Red

This is one of my psychological color picture and the color I used is red. Red is a very powerful color that evokes confidence and enthusiasm. This is a color that is very bright and attracts alot of attention. I took a picture of a flower my mom just planted in her garden. It was a gloomy day and the red flower just popped out so I decided to take a few pictures of it. The red flower is a very deep red and it makes me stop and actually look at the detail in it. Any color red can attract alot of attention because it is such a distinct color and I think I did a good job in capturing the color red.

Repulsive #2

This is my other repulsive picture. At first it doesn't really look that repulsive becuase of the bright colors of the lilac flowers but when you actually look at it, you see that there is a dead rat in the bird house. I upped the saturation of the bird house, the rat, and the flowers. I also blurred out the background so it wouldn't be as noticeable. This is my least favorite picture out of the 4 pictures from the repulsive/attractive assignment. I just don't like the theme and setting of it. I think the picture itself turned out good but it's definitely not the best.

Attractive #2

This is my other attractive picture. I think the theme for this was pretty creative. When you first look at this, you see a rotten banana, but you also see all the bright colors. I opened up the banana so you could see that its still ripe inside even though the outside looks pretty gross. I enhanced the colors on this picture to make the blues and yellows really stand out and I also created a dramatic contrast. I really like the angle that I took this picture at, I think it creates a good flow and movement to the viewers eyes. Overall, I think this picture turned out pretty good.

Repulsive #1

This is my repulsive picture. I tired to do a beach scene that looks pretty at first and I added in garbage and cigarette butts to make this picture look kindof disgusting. First of all, when you think about beaches, you think of how beautiful it is and think about the sand between you toes. but when you realize how polluted many beaches are, it disgustes you. Thats what I tried to capture in my picture. Overall, I think my theme was pretty good and I also think the finishing product looks awesome. I really like creating dramatic contast in my pictures, so thats what I did here.

Attractive #1

This is my attractive picture. I took it in a field by my house. At first I didn't think it was that good of a picture until I edited it, but now, I think it looks pretty sweet. When you see barb wire, you dont really think anything of it, but your always leneant to go by it because its very sharp. I tried to make this picture look beautiful and I think I did a good job at that. I made the colors of the rust on the barb wire more bright by having the reds stick out and I also added a pretty big contrast to it. I also used a Guassian blur on the background so the barb wire would be the focal point in this picture. I really like how this turned out and I think its a great picture. :)

Blur Overlay Filter

We were playing around with filters on our pictures in Digital Photography and I used a blur overlay for this one. This is one of my favorite ones out of all the pictures I changed filters on. I love how the pink from the flowers pops out and I really like the deep contrast through out the picture.

Alphabet Pictures

These are my alphabet pictures. My theme was nature and I wanted them to look as natural as I could but it came with a couple complications with some letters and I had to make adjustments on them. Most of these pictures were taken on my property and a few of them were taken in a very old building down the road from my house. When it came to editing, I changed the color balance quit a bit. I wanted them to have more of a nature feel so I made the color balance a little more green. overall, I think I did pretty good with the pictures and letters, but I think I should've edited them differently and not have made them have such a drastic green tone.
